TECNIKABEL has established many important collaborations with prestigious universities and leading companies offering structures, materials and technical personnel for innovative research projects.
MESAP - LIFE project

TECNIKABEL and HTC are members of the research project LIFE (Laser Innovativi in Fibra ottica Eye safe) inside the Piedmont regional consortium MESAP ( Mechatronics and Systems for Advanced Production.)
In this project the goal is to use fiber optic cables and connection to apply the laser beam with wavelengths “eye safe”. The major advantage will be to improve simultaneously the working environment quality and the Energy saving efficiency.
Project budget is 2,4 Milion Euro upon a time span 2011 - 2014
TECNIKABEL/HTC task inside the LIFE project: Planning and production of the fiber delivery cables for the laser beam transport.
DIADI project

The objectives of the DIADI project, developed in collaboration with the Turin University Politecnico, was to study and design “smart clothing” incorporating tens or even hundreds of tiny electrodes, each only a few millimetres in diameter, into the fabric weave. Smart clothing could be used to measure body temperature, heart beat and breathing parameters of the wearer, and even more importantly the electric signals emitted by muscles. The clothing could provide key information on pathologies, on force distribution and could signal fatigue in advance. This information is important for athletes who could monitor they physical conditions in real time while training.
TECNIKABEL took part in the project dealing with technical and administrative coordination, thread prototype design and final product tests.
Alenia Spazio – STEPS project

The STEPS project is part of the international community’s project for exploring the solar system, with robots and then by humans. For the Aerospace District, it was an important synergy allowing Thales Alenia Space Italia in Turin to bridge existing technological gaps and consolidate a coherent platform of space exploration technologies.
In this project, TECNIKABEL supplied support for developing a high-performance multifunctional frame and validating technologies by means of dedicated experimental activities.
Chemical School – University of Turin Politecnico

Always on the cutting edge of new material research, TECNIKABEL asked the Chemical School to analyse and research new flameproof materials for use in cable manufacturing. The results of these experiments will be implemented in production to improve product quality.
