The Dubai Metro is the second longest fully automated railway system in the world. When the 20 km long green line will start running in March 2010, the Dubai Metro will be 3 km longer than the Vancouver Skytrain, making it the absolute longest.
Approximately 9,000 people are working at the Dubai Metro construction sites. The initial investment was 4.8 billion dollars.
